Following Andrew Vaughan's informative and inspiring talk at the November meeting, we would like to propose a challenge to all interested members. The challenge is to design and make a diorama ready to show after the AGM in April 2019.
There is no prize and no rules. It can be any scale, any gauge, railway-based or not and whatever size you think is appropriate. Andrew's diorama of a garden shed was about three inches square and he commented that when you get to the edge you have to stop!
Some ideas might include part of a coal mine or quarry, an engine or goods shed, an industrial site, a rural signal box or level crossing, an urban scene, an incident on the end of a railway platform, drinkers outside a pub, a shepherd with sheep on a hill, the inside of a station waiting room. Anything at all that interests you.
Here are some pictures which might inspire.
