Sad news....

Brian Caton

Those members who were at the October meeting in 2016, will recall the remarkable live steam models built by Brian Caton.  There were 7mm scale locos controlled from the track and 5.5mm scale Isle of Man locos running on 00 track and a tiny folding 009 live steam 'train set'.

Some of you may have seen his O gauge industrial layout or his Isle of Man layout at a show.  Last year, he was at the Highley Engine House model  railway exhibition.  Sadly, Brian died on 15th April this year.  He was a good friend to me, sharing his wide experience of building well over 100 small scale live steam locos and sending sketches and even small components to help my rather more ham-fisted attempts at building in live steam.

Ian took some video film of Brian's talk which can been seen, with a report by Andrew Vaughan of the evening, on the Meeting October 5th on the News page of the website.
