Our next meeting is:-
Researching and planning in preparation for a model.
Vernon Larcombe shares some thoughts (and hopefully insights) into the process of preparation for the building a scale model of an actual building or location when the original is no longer available.
The Association of Shrewsbury Railway Modellers was formed over 35 years ago and currently has around 30 members. We meet on a monthly basis for illustrated talks, demonstration and “show you how” evenings on a variety of prototypical and model railway related subjects led by members and well-known modelling experts.
Members’ interests cover all the model railway scales, from Z gauge through to gauge 1 and G scale and further. As a group we pride ourselves on being friendly and try to offer help and encouragement to beginners to railway modelling and “old hands” alike. The Association also has close links with other local clubs such as the Platform 3 Model Railway Society (Shrewsbury) and the local Gauge O Guild Group.
We meet on the first Wednesday of every month, except August at Bayston Hill Memorial Hall. Meetings start at 7.00pm.
If your hobby is railway modelling and enjoy talking about railways and modelling, or want to learn more about how to go about it, then join us at one of our meetings and see what the Association is all about.
